Close to the Eiffel Tower and close to an rer stop - not metro - you'll need a separate ticket. Small cozy room, no elevator, and can hear everything going outside your door, but if all you are doing is sleeping, then it's a perfect little inexpensive place to stay. Staff was extremely nice, would stay there again. Close to Rue Cler street with a lot of resturaunts, shops, and bakeries.
Only complaint is that the stairway is small and very loud if people are climbing up - we accidentally woke someone up trying to get our luggage upstairs to the 3rd floor late at night. When someone opens the neighboring door to their room, it sounds like they're opening the door to your room. Otherwise, very clean and cozy.
The location of this Hotel is excellent, very well situated.
The Hotel is dirty, there are marks all over the carpets pretty much everywhere, there is no lift and the stairs are dangerous. We had a faulty door, where the door closer (that is there for safety) was hanging off the wall and didnt close the door as it should in case of a fire. This meant that when you opened the door, it banged against the wall and would only allow the door to open half way before banging against the wall. This was very annoying as you can imagine and over the days with the constant banging against the wall, the door then becamse difficult to clise because of this. I complained to the staff, who did absolutely nothing, judging by the marks on the wall and the number of holes in the wall/door frame, this has been like this for some time and ignored and is a fire hazard. My father also had an issue with a faulty sink where the plug didnt actually come out, so the sink would fill up and then take hours to empty, again we complained and nothing was done by the staff, appauling service. I would never stay at this Hotel again.
Great location, a 10 minute walk to Eiffel tower and about 20 minute walk to Arch de Triomphe and Champs Elysees. Close to Pont Alma for rer 3 train to Versailles and Bateau Mouche dock. Close to La Tour Malbourg and Invalides metro stations. Good rate in a safe, quiet and pleasant neighborhood, close to restaurants and shops on St. Dominique. Good for short stays- ours was four days. Staff was pleasant and helpful enough. Room was simple, comfortable and clean. Had already stayed at Hotel Malar before in 2002 and would stay there again for its location and rates. I would recommend the hotel but a lot depends on your personal expectations.
It was nice and close to all attractions. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpfull.
location was excellent, the staff are fantastic.
this is not really a complaint, the room and shower are very small, but with property as it is in paris, its fine for a short stay. oh, rooms very warm at night, could do with air conditioning.
warm and efficient greeting upon arrival, quick sign in and every attempt to answer our questions. rooms clean and comfortable.
Great location, friendly staff, accommodating.
Lots of ants in the room, no internet. The maid would leave the room door unlocked after her services so our room would be unlocked and unattended all day if we were away.
We've been lucky & probably got the best room they have #350, which has a full bath and immediate access to the interior yard. Hotel Malard has an excellent location - walking distances: 10 minutes to Eiffel tower/ 5 min to Seine buss# 63/ 5 min to metro#8 & Invalides / 15 min to D'Orsay, Concorde, Musee D'Orangerie. The staff is friendly and very helpfull.
The walls between rooms are really thin & one can hear everything from the next room(s).... but this is a minor defect compared to location and all other pluses.
Location of the hotel is excellent. And I really like the Hotel Staff, they are very polite and helpfull.
The hotel was in an excellent location, most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was very basic but reasonably clean.
I think it's time they changed the beds and the bedding. They could charge more if they did a revamp of the hotel, as the location was excellent for my purposes, which was a working holiday.
It's all about location... Malar is located in the City Center, close to everything. Close to the metro (Les Invalides).
Rooms are very small, bathroom itself is maybe 3sqm...? Very small shower cabin. The room is relatively clean.
good location. friendly staff. but too much rats - dont accept rooms on the 1st floor )))
I thought that for 60 euros in that part of Paris it was good value for money
We found the beds in room 128 to be rather narrow.
Very well priced and in a good location close to a Metro station, the Eiffel Tower and Invalides. Friendly English speaking staff. Also a couple of mini supermarkets nearby and many bakeries.
The thin walls mean that it is quite noisy with people climbing up and down the stairs arriving home later on at night. The room was also very hot most of the time, and we had to sleep with the external door open. There was a lack of any extras such as a kettle to make coffee, or even a bottle opener. Only two English TV channels (BBC and CNN). Bathroom is tiny.
The location is excellent and the hotel is just charming. Good size rooms for Paris. Good value; would definately rqte more than 2 star.
